RULES ABOUT BRINGING CHILDREN TO WORK:
In the USA, there are strict rules about bringing children to workplaces. These rules are set by the government and by employers.
The Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) protects anyone under 18 from unsafe work situations. For example, the U.S. Department of Labor recently
stopped a cleaning contractor from allowing children to do dangerous jobs. The contractor had to pay fines and follow strict rules to obey the law.
YOU ARE RECORDED:
Policies are in place to ensure the safety of employees, visitors, and children at the workplace.
This includes using CAMERAS to monitor activity and ensure safety protocols are followed. Kids brought to a job site by cleaning contractors are not invisible. Be aware, you are recorded and could lose your client.
COMMON WORKPLACE SAFETY RULES:
- Age Limits: Children under 18 are usually not allowed at job sites unless it’s for a special event like “Bring Your Child to Work Day.”
- Safety: Children are never allowed near dangerous equipment, tools, and materials.
- Confidentiality: Children should not see or access company documents or computers.
- Health: Sick children should not come to the workplace to prevent illness.
- Insurance: Most workplace insurance does not cover children. Parents are responsible for any injuries or damages.
Following these rules helps keep everyone safe and protects your business.
