Night or Day Cleaning: Which One is Truly Right For Your Business?

One of the problematic aspects of office cleaning is figuring out which time of day is the most efficient and effective for your facility or business to be cleaned. Would it be more beneficial for your commercial cleaning service to do the office cleaning at night so as not to cause any interruptions or inconvenience to your employees and clients?

Or would it more prudent to have a cleaning service on-site during business or office hours to take care of messes when they happen. For some facilities, the debate between day or night cleaning comes down to that of the budget and the possible energy consumption.

There are several considerations to look at when choosing the best time of day for your cleaning to be done. Let’s look at the benefits of both day and night cleaning.

Daytime Cleaning

One of the most obvious benefits of having your office cleaning done during the day is simply that it is much easier to see and tackle dirt and grime in the light of day. This ability to see what needs to be clean will result in an overall deeper cleaning.

There is also the benefit of improved energy efficiency. If the cleaning is done during the regular hours, when the lights are already in use, then you will not have to use the extra energy to light after hours or at night. There is also the fact that temperature at night may play a factor in your overall energy usage as well. If cleaning is provided during the regular operating hours, then you are cutting down on any possible expense of powering the building at night.

Your facility is also more secure when the cleaning is performed during the day, as fewer individuals are running in and out, causing possible concerns of security. With the use of daytime cleaning, you have the peace of mind that not only is the facility fully secured during the night, but every entry and exit to the building is locked.

Finally, with the use of daytime cleaning, you will see less and less turnover in employees. The lower the turnover of maintenance personnel, the lower the overall cleaning cost is for you. The less money your cleaning service has to spend on vetting, hiring, and training new staff members, the lower the price will remain for you.

Nighttime Cleaning

On the flip side, maybe the scheduling of your facilities cleaning at night is a better choice for you. Some facilities find that nighttime cleaning results in an uninterrupted cleaning, which in turn translates to a much deeper and more thorough cleaning.

Most commercial cleaning services train their staff to be professionals and work as efficiently and causing the least amount of disturbances as possible. However, there are those facilities that feel that there are disruptions, and as a result, prefer their offices to be cleaned at night.

There is also a health and safety aspect to be considered. When daytime cleaning is being performed, there is the possibility that the dirt and dust that is being kicked up may activate an employee’s allergies, sending them in a sneezing and wheezing spell. Not to mention that your employees will be exposed to the cleaning products used by the cleaning service, resulting in them breathing the fumes in.
